Fundamentals of Landscape Design

We will explore the basic tenets of landscape design, including site analysis, planting styles, texture, form, color and seasonality. Learn recommended plants for our area and their care. Students will create their own design using online resources with access to expert advice as desired.

Amanda is the owner of Garden Makeovers, LLC which is her fifth LLC she has been involved in starting. She brings real-life business experience to the classroom to give her students a deep sense of what they need to be successful. Healing Through Art

This workshop aims to create simple pieces of art to awaken self-awareness while promoting self-care adn compassion. Activities will not require experience in art and will be very "loose" so that one may be able to express and appreciate their own unique creations. This workshop is a place to feel safe and relax while experience, embracing, transmuting, and releasing your emotions through a creative channel.

Introduction to Sculpture

This workshop will give artists the opportunity to learn the basics of sculpture and begin a journey of exploration in the world of 3D art. This group is designed for people with great interest, but possibly little experience in sculpting. It is open to everyone though! We supply the basic instructional materials for the lesson content, and you bring your enthusiasm!

Fly Fishing from A-Z

This introductory course offers instruction on fly fishing fundamentals such as rod set-up, gear and equipment options, casting theory and drills, knot tying, fish ecology, and aquatic insects, fish identification, safety, ethical fishing practices, and lots more. From A to Z, you'll soon be on the water catching fish! All equipment provided; however, if you have your own, feel free to bring it. This 6 week course includes in person classes and 2 field trips.

Art journaling is a personal method of expressing thoughts and emotions in a way that words can't. With our need to keep indoors, having had restricted travel for the holidays for annual gatherings with family and friends, not to mention all the worries and stress of these times, finding a creative way to relieve some of the stress in a fun way is immensely helpful.

Deborah is a resident artist at The Art Center of Dover. She has been teaching art for over 15 years. She returned to school later in life to get her Associated Segree in Fine Art, and hopes to eventually go back and et her Bachelo'rs Degree in Fine Art. Having been raised in Miami, Florida, she is attracted to bright, tropical colors and works in all styles of art, painting, watercolor, mixed media, and textiles. She enjoys passing on her love of art to others and seeing how it enriches their lives.

Printmaking

In this class we will learn how the printing press and our imaginations can create beautiful monoprints. Monoprints are created by inking plexiglas and wiping away the ink and poissibly adding some other inks to achieve a one of a kind work of art. the class will include your own plexiglas plate that cn be used many times and ink and paper, This class is good for the beginner who loves to create or printmakers from the past wishing to et behind the press again.

She has been teaching workshops for over 20 years and has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art from Massachusetts College of Art with a concentration in printmaking. In August 2021, she will complete her Master's of Fine Art at Massachusetts College of Art. Her work can be found around new England and the East Coast and is currently getting ready for a three-woman show at the Piano Craft Boston, February 2021.

Learn the fundamentals of oil painting. You will be introduced to oil painting materials (brushes, paints, palette, and mediums), and gain hands-on experience mixing colors, painting with oils on canvas, and cleaniung up. This class if for beginners. A strong background in drawing is helpful, although not required. All material  are provided.
