Marketing, Communications & Development Assistant

  

Dover Adult Learning Center is a school-based nonprofit whose mission is to help youth and adults enhance their skills and improve their lives through education, job preparation, high school completion, and enrichment classes.  We do this through classes, tutoring, online and hybrid instruction, and advising in English, math, writing and reading, high school equivalency preparation and diploma attainment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of our Marketing Specialist and Office Manager, the Assistant will be responsible for the execution of three major projects:

  1. Enhance efficiency of marketing campaigns, use of social media and other communications through database management, reorganization and clean up.
  2. Develop and implement distribution plan for print material including mailers, catalogs rack cards and posters.
  3. Preservation of historical artifacts by organizing and scanning print material into digital format.

Requirements and qualifications

  1. Knowledge and use of databases
  2. Familiarity with office equipment, including copier/scanner
  3. Skill with MSOffice software and Outlook email
  4. Comfort with social media and email marketing
  5. Ability to work independently and as a team member
  6. Willing to do administrative tasks at first and take on more responsibility over time.

Suitable for a student in communications, marketing, database management or nonprofit management, this position will offer insight and experience in the types of communications and promotional materials a non-profit utilizes, how to maximize the benefits of a database and have significant input into developing systems of promotion recruitment and maintaining documents for effective operations.
