10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Singers and musicians with a devotion to honing their musical understanding and with little or no prior knowledge of theory are encouraged to take this course. The ability to read and notate music is a plus. Topics include an overview of the piano keyboard, scales, key signatures, the circle of fifths, intervals and simple chords. Students will also learn to recognize and write basic melodic and rhythmic patterns in music. The course will help musicians develop skills in singing on pitch, listening, reading and writing musical notation, and analyzing what they hear. Bring to class a folder or 3-ring binder, staff paper, pencil and anything used to take notes about lectures.

Are there any plans to offer “Beginning Music Theory and Ear Training” again? I would be very interested in taking it.
