Lisa Leslie, owner and founder of Magnolia Method Consulting is conducting a 2-day, interactive seminar on discovering your why and sharing your brand story. Students will work with each other and the instructor to discover the “why” behind their business endeavors, and to learn how to share it through website content, blogging, and social media. In the first session, students will begin the brand message development process and create a rough draft of a brand message document for their business. In the second session, students will work together to create a basic content strategy, as well as learn about several free and low-cost tools for generating blog topics, mastering grammar, managing social media, and more. At the end of the second class, students will take home print and digital brand messaging and content strategy templates for future use.

Driftwood & Seaglass Wreath

Join local driftwood artist Cherie Herne from Salty Girl and the Long Dog in making a 16" one-of-a-kind driftwood and sea glass wreath. You will be supplied with a sturdy wooden ring with hanger, driftwood sticks and accent pieces, wood glue, epoxy cement, sea glass, a paper template and take-home instructions. Cherie and her Salty assistants will guide you step-by-step in completing our beautiful, Maine driftwood wreath. Registration includes all supplies, and lite refreshments.

Introduction to Falun Gong

Falun Gong is an ancient, traditional Chinese practice of "self cultivation"- a way to improve mental and physical wellness through meditation and five easy-to-learn exercises. Mike has been playing harmonica since the age of fifteen. Years ago he left the seacoast area of Maine, moving to the deep south.  This move influenced his love of rural blues.  Accompanied by his wife Bev, Mike performs in public schools, retirement centers and public concerts bringing his love of the harmonica to special need students and the general population in for the form of concerts and harmonica workshops.  During the International Paralympics in 1996 in Atlanta, GA Mike and Bev were part of the Very Special Arts performances.  They also participated in the 1999 International Very Special Arts Conference in Los Angeles, CA representing Maine and Georgia.

First Aid Certification

This American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course will teach participants how to recognize and help victims of medical and environmental emergencies and what to do if someone is injured. Subjects covered include, but are not limited to, allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke, seizures, breathing problems, diabetes, bleeding, bites and stings, heat and cold emergencies, head, neck and spinal injuries and more. The Portland Head Light is one of the most photographed lighthouses, with good reason–it’s such a stunning vista. Even if you’ve never tried painting before, we show you the steps to paint this iconic landmark. Express your creativity in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Workshop includes all materials to make one 11×14 inch painting.
