Water Bath Canning for Jams

Have you always wanted to gain knowledge about food preservation? Come join us and learn about the process using lower temperature for acidic foods i.e. tomatoes and fruits, safety, its history and canning tools/utensils. Students will take home a jar of blueberry jam. All materials included. All long hair must be secured. Please bring a hand towel to class.

Come join us and learn about Pressure Canning, the method used to preserve fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, fish , and other food items. You will also learn its safety, its history and canning tools/utensils. Students will take home a jar of carrots. All materials included. All long hair must be secured. Bring a hand towel to class.

Salsa-Water Bath Canning

Everyone enjoys a little salsa and chips for a party. Now you can learn to make your own by adding or removing ingredients.  You will learn tips on customizing your salsa.  The night of class you will make a basic salsa with jalapeno pepper, onions, tomatoes , and spices.  In order to make it in the allotted time,  a few steps will be prepared ahead of class, so you can preserve a jar to take home.  There will be several recipes for you to try at home as well.  Please have small towel or 2 potholders for carrying home your jar.  If you have long hair, please wear it up or wear a hat.
