By examining the trials and triumphs, you will begin to understand the basis of the American culture. The evolution of our current government system will bring to life the documents our society stands upon. You will witness the birth of a nation and its growth into a major player on the world’s stage (peaceful transfer of power between opposing parties, growth of the industrial cities, and legislating equality among citizens), its dominance and respect afforded to it worldwide Spanish American War, assistance during WW1 and WW2, nation building in the late 20th century), while at the same time you will witness the dark side of American history, the one of oppression and greed (slavery, Jim Crow laws, Native American removal, the Great Depression, Japanese internment camps), helping you to completely understand the country and the people of America.
